Finding out we were pregnant:
I found out pretty early on(about 4 weeks). I had been feeling pretty funky, overly tired, and having weird cramps, that felt different somehow. We decided to take a test, and sure enough, instantly positive. I took another to make sure, and there, again, another positive. My initial reaction was to just lay on my bed, and cry a little, because I could not believe I actually could be a MOM! Ike was overjoyed. He seriously was so genuinely happy, it melted my heart!
Pregnancy Woes:
So far, I wish I could say that things have been rosy. They were, really, for about two weeks. Since then, I have lost ten pounds, and had a really tough time eating and keeping food down. I've tried just about every trick in the book, but I think sometimes people just have hard pregnancies for a little while. I just hope I'm almost over it! I'm out of the first trimester, so it should be subsiding a little, I hope ;). Food will stay down for me and taste so good, and then the next day, the same food that I thought was "good", will then make me vomit uncontrollably. So weird how that happens!
Morning sickness?? Sheesh I wish that's all it was! So far, I've glimpsed Morning sickness, Noon sickness, Afternoon sickness, Night sickness, and all-through-the-night sickness. This is pretty common with some moms too though, so I hear.
It IS getting better though, which I'm happy to share. I am eating more, keeping more down, and feeling genuinely better week to week.
Waiting to Share the News:
I told my immediate family right away. I could NOT. It was too exciting to share. I've heard multiple times that people will wait months before telling their family. I just couldn't wait, and I knew both sets of parents would be really mad that I waited so long to tell. As for the rest, I kept it really under wraps. With how sick I've been, I had to tell my boss, and many of my co-workers up front. I've missed a few days of work, and wanted to let them know.
I wanted to keep everything on the "down-low" because I was worried about miscarrying, especially on my first. 1 out of 4 miscarries these days, and I didn't want to have to share really good, and then really bad news simultanously. Now that I'm mostly out of that window, I feel really comfortable telling anyone and everyone! I really couldn't be happier for all that is happening lately!
Am I showing?? haha. I wish, but sadly, nope! Not at all yet, really! I FEEL bigger, and bloated, but there is no weight, or visible evidence to prove anything. YET ;)
